Double Entry

Every Record’s Postings must sum to zero. Money always comes from somewhere and goes somewhere.

A purchase debits an expense and credits an asset:

    Assets:Checking     -$50.00
    Expenses:Groceries   $50.00

This constraint ensures the books always balance.
